Enterprise 2.0 vs Web 2.0 trends

Is Enterprise 2.0 a trend? Are people becoming more aware of it? Is this ‘Buzz Word’ being adopted? These are some of the questions I’m asking myself today and similarly these are some of the challenges Enterprise 2.0 are facing (adoption, uptake, etc).

Firstly, where I can I’ve tried to take away results relating to the Star Trek Enterprise, so if you wondering why you see those in graphs…. there you go. So lest take a look at blog posts referring to Enterprise 2 compared to “web 2 on Technorati.

So from the data above it is clear that Web 2.0 has much stronger roots in the ground, as this concept or buzz word was brought along much earlier on than Enterprise 2.0 was, but what I’ve found interesting is the downwards slop in Web 2.0? Why is this? Is this because there is a general acceptance to the term web 2.0? Perhaps instead of labeling a site, product or tool as being web 2.0 we just accept it for what is and call it by its name? With a somewhat large mention of around 10,000 posts daily with the mention of Web 2.0 I would hardly say its dieing.

Looking at Enterprise 2.0, the first thing I noticed was the lack of interest in the term. With numbers that low and with around 60 people studying Enterprise 2.0 at QUT at the moment, I wonder if the students in their weekly blog posts are effecting the graph? So is Enterprise 2.0 such a strange concept to everyone? Is it a buzz word that hasn’t been as widely accepted as the previous web 2.0?

So there has to be more going on behind all this and I’ve found since 2007 the web 2.0 buzz word peaked and has been going down ever since – Read Write Web

Claiming your blog on Technorati

If you have a blog, you generally want people to read it. So now that I have a flow of posts going I’m looking to increase the exposure to the world.

Today I’m taking the steps required to claim your blog on Technorati. I’ve mentioned this place before, but I’ll give you a quick summary:

Technorati is the blogsphere platforms as Google is the directory of the web?… or perhaps…. Technorati = Blogs, Google = Sites.

So here is some yummy food for the Technorati spiders/bots – sg4ji9bahx (and also my code to claim my blog). Thanks guys for putting up with this post.

Twittorati – The next thing?

If you haven’t heard of twitter by now, you’re not keeping up with the latest web trends. So whats next to join the social giant of web 2.0?

I just received an email saying that ‘Twittorati‘ is up and running. Now if you were like me you would of made the connection between Technorati and Twitter, and that is exactly what it is. Technorati have branched out from the blogsphere and are now monitoring the latest trends in the twittersphere. Self described as:

‘Where the blogsphere and twittersphere meet’

Twittorati lets you find out the latest tweets, photos, links and blogs to have gone through twitter and displays them in an easy to use interface. This is a great example of web 2.0 technologies combining together to provide a service to consumers and begs the question.

Can you afford to ignore Twittorati?

Of course this depends who you are, but one thing I will find interesting is the war between the most ‘influential voices’ take place and how business will engage themselves on Twittorati. For me, I’ve got my bet that we will see a forever changing top 100 as trends rapidly change in the twittersphere.

One thing which I’ve found interesting is that on alexa twittorati currently ranked 75,842 (3month average, compared to 20,400 (yesterday). That isn’t bad considering that it has jumped up by over 19,000,000 spots in after 3 months.
