Gran Turismo 5 – Screenshots in Game

I’ve recently been playing Gran Turismo 5 on the Playstation 3. Its come along way since GT1. One of the features I’ve been playing with is the Photo Mode. It basically allows you to pick a location, move the car around, play with camera settings, etc in an effort to take a photo of your car inside the game.

Seeing I went to the effort to play around with it, I thought I would share the photos. The last few photos was actually in a race using the replay feature. If you can’t tell what is happening, basically the race has started and my car has gotten a fair bit of lift and is landing on top of the car in front. Not your usual method for over taking!

Merry Christmas Waterfall Show from The Wynn

During out visit in Vegas, we got taken to this small outdoor area where there is a waterfall. At 9pm the show starts and during this time of the year the put on a nice ‘Merry Christmas’ theme. The thing that was nice about this show, was it was very secluded and hardly anyone was there. You can grab a table and order a drink from the bar and just take it in.

Now that I have come back from my holiday to the USA and Canada (well only Toronto), I’ve got some time to go through photos and videos of the trip (also have some annual leave combined with the public holidays). Today being Christmas, I thought I would start it off with a Christmas video. I’ll try and more photos and videos following this.

Sunset photos of Tangalooma

A couple a months ago I stayed at Tangalooma for a few nights. I was looking back through some photos and thought there were a few sunset photos that looked cool. I didn’t feed the dolphins this trip, how ever I did see a lot of people give it a go.

The photos were taken with my Canon 50D, while walking to the ship wrecks from the main beach. As you might have noticed in the second photo, all of a sudden clouds came over and it started to rain slightly.

Quark RGB – First Light Paintings Attempts

After doing a bit of research on the internet, I decided to purchase a torch/flashlight, in attempt to be a bit creative with the whole ‘light painting’ concept. I ended up finding a flashlight made by 4sevens, called the Quark RGB.

Now I’ve only just got it today and have only played around with it for 10 minutes or so (and taken less than 10 photos). So here are the results. I can see huge room for improvement, but trying to find ‘dark areas’ was a little difficult. For the most part I was just experimenting to see if the reason I bought the Quark RGB would work out.

I’ve also got to figure out how I can tell my Camera to keeping taking a photo, until I tell it to stop. (Similar to BULB mode, however I don’t want to be holding the button. I just want to press the button to start, and press to finish).

I’ll need to get out my tripod and try some outdoor shots as well.

River Fire 2009

So River Fire in Brisbane has just passed for another year. The media has mentioned that this was the last year he F-111 will be particpating in the event doing their “Dump and Burn”. I didn’t manage to get a decent spot to look at the fireworks but I thought I would share some photos anyway.

I didn’t have a tripod so the ISO rating was whacked up to 3200 so be prepared for some noise. Anyway, let me know what you think.

Mt.Cootha from inside my car

Haven’t taken any new photos recently, so I thought I would share a few more. The below ones were taken from inside my car at Mt.Cootha, Brisbane. As it was raining I ended up staying in the car, as there wasn’t a real opportunity to get anything.

The biggest challenge here was to keep the camera still for 15 seconds or longer, resting against the car door. This was the main reason why I ended up with some many photos. Below are two photos taken from the night.

Gold Coast Photos

I mentioned in my first post that I had intended to share some photos. I’ll start with 3 photos which I had taken earlier on the year. Both photos are taken on the Gold Coast, QLD using my Canon 50D. I haven’t played with it too much, and in both occasions (beach & building) was my first attempts at using a tripod to take some long exposures.

My favourite is the third photo (portrait of the beach, where you can see a dogs foot prints in the sand). Just click on the photos if you want to see a larger view of them.

Update:

I forgot to mention that the photo of the building was meant to capture “Earth Hour”, a before and after which I thought the community would get behind. The reason why there isn’t a after photo (during) is that nothing changed. More about Earth Hour – here
