Sunset photos of Tangalooma

A couple a months ago I stayed at Tangalooma for a few nights. I was looking back through some photos and thought there were a few sunset photos that looked cool. I didn’t feed the dolphins this trip, how ever I did see a lot of people give it a go.

The photos were taken with my Canon 50D, while walking to the ship wrecks from the main beach. As you might have noticed in the second photo, all of a sudden clouds came over and it started to rain slightly.

Nice shots Jason! I really like the driftwood shot. How did you get it looking so “golden”?

Hi Anthony,

Thanks for the comments.

It must be a combination between having a very nice beach to walk on, the sunset coming across. I was trying to use a polarizing filter for the first time as well (with out ever reading out how they work) which also may have contributed. I was using it in an attempt to dull down some of the brightness and give more of a gradient blue sky.

This kind of worked in the second photo, but in the first photo the sky is blown out totally and didn’t work. Trial and error.
