Just a quick post to let you know that I have 16 Google Wave invites to hand out. If your not sure what a Google Wave is then have a quick look at the video below:
So now that you have an overview of what Google Wave is (if you didn’t know already). Just send a reply back in this post and I’ll go about sending you an invite as soon as I can.
Note: At this stage the only way to get access to Google Wave is through an invite, so please only reply back if you are interested as there are many people who are still trying to get in.

No worries Andrew,
I’ve sent you an invite. I’m not sure if you will get the e-mail straight away, but you should get it sometime soon.
You will end up having to create an account, etc.

Wow, that looks very interesting. I have a sneaking suspicion that this might be another one of those things which makes our lives more complex rather than easier. Old people will never be able to understand it! Also, I’m not sure that I like the idea of collaborative editing. Are there limitations to it? Leaving something so open to editing is an invitation for rude people to mess it up. What if someone in the conversation starts changing important details without consulting the original author? Half of the point of email is that it’s fixed and leaves a paper trail. This is very important for correspondence in business/university and other official media. I can only really see Wave being another social-networking thing like Twitter and Facebook, with probably the exact same user set.

I still haven’t had too much time to test it.
In regards to tracking the changes, if something is edited it is highlighted for when the user opens the wave back up again so they can see the changes. There is also a “replay” function which goes through each step (or change/wave) so the entire thing is tracked.
The wave is also only shared with those of who you have allowed.
– At the moment I don’t see it useful for me in day to day things as it doesn’t have the people I need on it, and I can’t send a wave/email to someone who doesn’t have a wave account. Thus there is no reason to bother with it at this stage.
There is also functionality and bugs they are working out, so there is still a bit to go (hence the BETA)….
